Being homeless can take it all out of you. It’s a fight to hold onto who you are. Because of Sundance, I have social interactions that have helped with my depression. The community knows me because of Sundance. He's a constant positive. He is also my guardian. Since my husband injured and attacked me, he reacts when anyone touches me. Sundance has been my thread to hang on in life. The only person who ever tended to me better was my mom. I used to have nightmares, but when he came into my life they stopped and I started having good dreams. When I had knee surgery, I was in crying in pain and dozed off. When I woke up, this puppy was laying across my head like a rainbow speaking into my ear saying it’s going to be alright. With Sundance, my little light survived. My soul survived. This dog lights up my life like nothing else.
